Cancer Comes to Work

Additional Helpful Resources

Gilda's Club Evansville is an affiliate of Cancer Support Community (CSC), a global organization providing psychosocial cancer support to tens of thousands of people, through a network of nearly 50 US affiliates, a Research and Training Institute, and advocacy partnerships with medical and governmental leaders.

Cancer Experience Registry

The Cancer Experience Registry is a unique online community of over 10,000 participants that brings people impacted by cancer together to make their voices heard, connect with each other, share experiences, learn from and help others. The Registry is open to any individual impacted by cancer, at any stage of the journey. It is free and confidential.

Participants can join the Cancer Experience Registry by filling out a simple registration form, followed by a questionnaire to think about and identify the emotional and social issues that impact an individual's cancer experience. The Research and Training Institute uses the information from these surveys to improve the care for people with cancer and their caregivers, and to develop better programs and services for our community.

Research and Training Institute

The Cancer Support Community's Research and Training Institute is the first institute dedicated to cancer related psychosocial, behavioral and survivorship research and training. The Institute seeks to examine the critical role of emotional and social support in improving the lives of people facing cancer, and to share what is learned with the broader cancer community. The Research and Training Institute bridges the gap between research and practice by using the information and insight from our community to improve Cancer Support Community programs and raise awareness of emotional and social issues with health care providers and policy makers.

Frankly Speaking About Cancer

Frankly Speaking About Cancer is the Cancer Support Community's landmark cancer education series that provides trusted information on a variety of topics important to people affected by cancer.

Each workshop is led by a health care professional specializing in the cancer-related workshop topic being presented. This unique format offers participants an opportunity to connect with others experiencing similar needs and concerns, as well as access to a health care professional outside of the doctor's office in a comfortable, safe and relaxed environment.
